MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION
SUBJECT: Use of Oracle Training Administration (OTA) Within the
Modern Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)

spacer Initial testing of the Oracle Training Administration (OTA) module of the Modern DCPDS is now complete. The OTA is designed to allow users to request, route and document completed training, create vendors, courses and sessions, and access bulletin boards. While this suite of features appears extensive, it requires many improvements before I approve OTA for implementation in Department of the Army. I will reevaluate OTA once these improvements are complete.

spacer In the interim, Civilian Personnel Operations Center (CPOC) personnelists are to continue entering completed training data in accordance with the Army Human Resources Development (HRD) task list. The official repository for training completion data for legacy system users is DCPDS. For regions that deploy Modern DCPDS, CPOC personnelists will record completed training in Oracle Human Resources using the DOD civilian personnelist responsibility role. Do not use the OTA module.

spacer Managers, activity training coordinators, and CPOC/Civilian Personnel Advisory Center Human Resource Development professionals continue to share the responsibility for ensuring proper, timely, and accurate documentation of civilian training. Document all completed, mission-related training as described in 5 CFR 410.101.

spacer My point of contact is Ms. Roxann Dent at (703) 325-7271, DSN 221, email: Roxann.Dent@(email address expired).
