CHAPTER 3

		     PHYSICAL SECURITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT

			       RESPONSIBILITIES

		      MACOM CP-19 CAREER PROGRAM MANAGERS

CPMs share overall responsibility with the Civilian Personnel Director
for the planning, implementation and evaluation of training and career
program management within their commands.  They will:

    (1)  Promote the identification of key positions;

    (2)  Mentor careerists, as appropriate;

    (3)  Promote Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action;

    (4)  Promote the establishment and use of rotational and/or developmental
assignments;

    (5)  Disseminate training and career management information to Activity
Career Program Managers (ACPMs) and/or careerists;

    (6)  Encourage registration and currency of information in The Army
Civilian Announcement Distribution System (DACADS);

    (7)  Provide guidance and instruction to ACPMs;

    (8)  Represent the Command to the FCR on training and career management
issues and make recommendations on changes to policy, the ACTEDS plan
and related procedures;

    (9)  Assist in various projects initiated by either HQDA or the
proponent;

    (10) Advise command headquarters and field activities on career
management from a functional standpoint;

    (11) Advise and assist the FCR in matters related to career management
responsibilities; and

    (12) Serve as a member of career program planning boards at MACOM
and DA levels.
