CHAPTER 3

		     PHYSICAL SECURITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT

			       RESPONSIBILITIES

				 SUPERVISORS

Supervisors have the primary responsibility to implement the ACTEDS
plan.  They will:

    (1)  Determine, with the careerist, the competencies, characteristics,
training and developmental experiences required for career progression;

    (2)  Counsel employees on alternatives for obtaining competencies;

    (3)  Establish IDPs and other training plans;

    (4)  Counsel employees on the requirements and prospects of various
career areas;

    (5)  Prioritize and obtain needed training for careerists;

    (6)  Establish developmental/rotational assignments where possible;

    (7)  Release careerists to attend training and participate in developmental
programs/seminars; and

    (8)  Budget for and request mandatory, mission essential and other
training that will enhance performance;

    (9)  Encourage registration and currency in DACADS; and

    (10) Ensure an employee's training record reflects competency fulfillment
(See paragraph 5a).
