Placement Follow-Up


The Civilian Personnel Operations Center may conduct placement follow-ups on new employees during their initial probationary period. A follow-up is made with the supervisor to determine if the employee is performing up to expectations.


Supervisor and employee feedback provide a means for evaluating the staffing programs in such areas as adequacy of the job analysis; quality of candidates referred; responsiveness of the selection procedures; if additional employee training is required; and other issues that may serve as a basis for future program and process improvements.


If a problem area is discovered during the course of a followup interview or other contact with the supervisor, it should be discussed with the employee's supervisor and brought to the attention of the appropriate human resource specialist with program responsibility for performance management, training, management-employee relations, or other areas related to the employee's problems.
