National Public Service Awards

The National Public Service Award is sponsored by the American Society for Public Administration and the National Academy of Public Administration. Five awards will be presented annually to public service practitioners who currently work or who have spent the primary part of their careers working in the public service.

Eligibility:

• Individuals who have made outstanding contributions on a sustained basis and whose careers exhibit the highest standard of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment.

Criteria:

• Nominations will be judged by the complexity of the problems addressed and the organizations directed; measurable improvements in management; and the extent of long-term or lasting benefit of the nominee's accomplishments on the efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of governmental operations.
