Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE)

Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE) program provides unemployment benefits to Federal workers similar to those provided by State unemployment insurance laws to workers in private industry. States, through agreement with the Secretary of Labor, act as agents in administering this program.

The Army is fiscally responsible to the States for unemployment compensation claims filed by former Army employees. The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center has a representative who serves as program administrator and liaison with the various State Unemployment Offices.
