Traveler-arranged POV Transportation

Did you know the Joint Travel Regulation has been updated concerning traveler-arranged Privately Owned Vehicles (POV) transportation. This update allows Continental United States (CONUS) POV transportation from the old Permanent Duty Station (PDS)/actual residence to the new PDS (Door-to-Door), and reimbursement is not limited to old PDS port/Vehicle Processing Center to new PDS port. If POV shipment is authorized at GOV’T expense and the traveler personally arranges the POV transportation, reimbursement is limited to the traveler’s actual expenses, not to exceed the POV transportation cost from the authorized origin point to authorized destination. These changes are scheduled to appear in JTR, 1 April 2011.
