MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION
SUBJECT: Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ) for Nonappropriated Fund National Agency Checks



We were advised last week that the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence directed all Department of Defense activities use EPSQ exclusively by January 1,1999.

The Defense Security Service deployed a new automated case control management system that should improve the efficiency of the personnel security investigation process for National Agency Checks and result in significant cost savings for the Department of Army. Failure to use the EPSQ will result in significant degradation in service and may result in charges for personnel security investigations.

Guidance for the use of this system may be obtained at web site http://www.dss.mil/ The Defense Security Service EPSQ Home Page provides current information pertaining to completion of SF 85P security checks for positions of public trust, e.g. child care background checks.
