SUBJECT: Placement of Graduating Army Civilian Personnel Training, Education and Development System (ACTEDS) Interns

To keep in step with emerging technology and in an effort to work more efficiently, we are revising the process for locating suitable vacancies for placing graduating Army Civilian Training, Education and Development System (ACTEDS) interns. We will test the below-described process during the next 12 months and, if proven successful after a thorough evaluation, set new policy.

Training commands that experience difficulty finding permanent placement for a graduating intern will continue to submit placement requests in accordance with Army Regulation 690-950, chapter 3, section 3-34, paragraph b(1). The ACTEDS Management Branch will continue to issue an Army-wide hiring freeze message, however, Civilian Personnel Operations Centers (CPOCs) will no longer have to conduct extensive reviews of new vacancies and report back to the ACTEDS Branch. Instead, the ACTEDS Management Branch will search the ACPERS Tracker system for suitable vacancies and contact the appropriate CPOC staffing point of contact once a vacancy is found and negotiate placement. The process for the actual placement of the intern remains unchanged.

The point of contact for intern placement is Ms. Kerrie Tucker, (703) 325-0995, DSN 221-0995, email: tuckerk@(email address expired)
